Oklahoma State University (OSU) is a comprehensive research-extensive university, with over 23,000 students enrolled in close to 200 degree programs. Over one-fifth of the student population are graduate students, who come from all fifty US states and from close to 120 other countries.
Part of OSU's mission as a Land Grant University is to serve the people of the region, the state, the nation, and the world by making a first-class education available to all. In response to the growing diversity and demographic changes in the state and in the nation, OSU is committed to preparing graduates to live and work in a culturally pluralistic world.
The Graduate College is proud of the diversity of its graduate student population and of their contribution to both the generation and dissemination of new knowledge through their involvement in the university's research and instructional programs. OSU has consistently ranked a clear first in the number of doctoral degrees awarded to Native American students, and, in cooperation with the Office of the Vice President for Institutional Diversity, we have embarked on an ambitious program to build upon our existing success and create a more multicultural and culturally-sensitive environment and a truly holistic educational experience for students of all backgrounds and interests.
