  Name: Williams College: Gaius Charles Bolin Fellowships for Minority Graduate Students  
     
  Purpose: Annual award to encourage able minority students to pursue careers in college teaching. The Bolin Fellowships enable two minority graduate students to devote the bulk of their time during the academic year to the completion of dissertation work.  
     
  Field: Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, or Behavioral Sciences  
       
  Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens and have completed all doctoral work except the dissertation by the end of the current academic year. During the year of residence at Williams, the Bolin Fellows will be assigned faculty advisors and will be expected to teach a one-semester course.  
       
  Amount: $33,000
