National Gallery of Art- Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts: Predoctoral Fellowship Program

Purpose:

Annual award to support doctoral dissertation research.

Field:

Art History, Theory and Criticism; Architecture and Urbanism or related fields.

Eligibility:

By nomination of candidate's university department. Must be U.S. citizens or enrolled in a university in the U. S., all pre-dissertation requirements before the date of application. Candidates must know two foreign languages related to dissertation topic.

Amount:

$20,000 annual stipend. Terms of fellowships vary. Some are intended for study abroad, others in the United States, and time periods range from 12 to 36 months.
